■ Why I Focus on First-Time Buyers and House Hacking
Before I became a REALTOR®, I was in the same position many Austin renters are in today. I was watching housing costs rise, wondering how people were supposed to get ahead, and asking the same question so many young professionals are asking:
“Is buying a home in Austin even realistic?”
At the time, I was fascinated by tiny homes, creative housing, and alternative ways people were making homeownership more affordable. I loved the idea of living simply, lowering expenses, and creating more freedom.
But as I researched tiny homes on wheels, I realized how complicated it could be to find land that legally allowed them. Then I noticed something interesting. Some Austin homeowners were renting out unused space on their properties and creating extra income from something they already owned.
That idea stuck with me.
Around the same time, I connected with real estate investors in Austin who introduced me to the concept of house hacking — using your primary residence to help offset your housing costs and potentially create income.
That was my “aha” moment.
I realized real estate was not just about buying a home. It was a way to think differently about money, housing, and your future. That discovery eventually led me into real estate, and today it is a major part of why I do what I do.
I want to help more people understand what is possible when they stop thinking of their first home as just a purchase — and start seeing it as a strategy.

The ATX Project exists to help bridge that gap.
Through guides, resources, neighborhood insights, market education, and house hacking content, I help break down complex real estate topics into simple, practical steps.
A lot of my own investing education has come from books, local investor conversations, real-life examples, and trusted educational communities like BiggerPockets. But my goal is not to overwhelm you with theory.

■ A Little More About Me
My wife Aleks and I live in Austin with our two cats, Winnie and Waffles.
We love traveling, experiencing new cultures, finding great food, exploring coffee shops, and discovering hidden gems around the city. Whether it is a local trail, a new restaurant, a neighborhood we have not spent enough time in, or a weekend adventure, we love getting to know Austin on a deeper level.
I am also a triathlete and love training, racing, and connecting with others in the sport. Triathlon has taught me a lot about patience, consistency, discipline, and long-term thinking — and those same values show up in how I serve my clients.
Big goals do not happen all at once. They happen by building the right plan, taking the next step, and staying committed.
That is true in training. And it is true in real estate.
